I. ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES:
Performs office work and word processing tasks according to prescribed
policies and procedures.

III. POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Director of Curriculum
Coordinates with: Instructional Services Department staff;
district staff
Type of coordination: As directed by administrator or others
with coordination responsibilities
IV. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Desired training and experience: graduation from high school,
supplemented by vocational school program in clerical related
subjects; recent responsible office experience; experience/training in
word processing and/or computers.
- Special requirements of the position:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working
relationships with a large and varied group of district
personnel
- Ability to conduct business via the phone in a pleasant, helpful
and professional manner
- Ability to acquire and maintain knowledge of the identified
grant programs, their operations and policies
- Ability to work with the district's financial software program,
Bi-Tech
- Ability to maintain complete/accurate department budgetary
records using the Microsoft Excel program
- Ability to maintain the rosters of grant-funded positions using
Microsoft Access program and to coordinate/verify the data with
the district's personnel office
- Knowledge of business English, spelling and composition
- Ability to type from plain copy, rough draft and tabular
material, and to transcribe dictation
- Ability to maintain accurate and complete records and prepare
clear and detailed reports
V. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
- Acts as secretary to the Director of Curriculum Planning and
Development and other assigned professional staff.
- Types from unprepared and prepared copy including
dictation/transcription.
- Assists with answering telephone, taking messages, and giving
information.
- Handles mail and filing.
- Types and completes electronic database entry of K-12 curriculum
documents for the curriculum plan in reading, language arts,
mathematics, social studies, science, health, vocational education,
physical education, art, music, and youth wellness issues.
- Maintains curriculum plan documents to meet State Standards and
State Statutes Compliance files.
- Maintains complete/accurate budgetary records for Title I, II, and
SAGE Grants.
- Maintains rosters of grant funded positions and coordinates/verifies
the data with the district's personnel office.
- Provides clerical assistance as needed within the department.
- Orders, checks in materials and does budget bookkeeping, utilizing
Excel and district accounting software, for Director of Curriculum and
Elementary Curriculum Coordinator.
- Types correspondence and brochures for Director of Curriculum.
- Handles registration for workshops.
- Handles scheduling and other clerical work related to Star Lab, K-5
field trips, and fire prevention visits.
- Processes travel requests for Director of Curriculum.
- Coordinates clerical support with other curriculum department staff
as workload within the department requires.
- Types and assembles handbooks, reports, grants, and manuals.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
