INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CLERK

I. ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES:

Performs office work and word processing tasks involved with the AV repair shop according to prescribed policies and procedures.

II. POSITION CHARACTERISTICS:

Salary: On schedule
Length of contract:  12 months (.75)

III. POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:

Reports to: Technology Staff Development Specialist
Coordinates with: Executive Director of Technology, Data Processing Director, Network Manager and School Staff.
Type of coordination:  As directed by administrator or others with coordination responsibilities

IV. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Required training and experience: Graduation from high school
  2. Desired training and experience: Advanced courses in secretarial science; recent responsible office work experience; experience/training in word processing, databases, spreadsheets, business accounting systems, demonstrated understanding of technology terms and familiarity with technical equipment.
  3. Special requirements of the position:
    1. Ability to use and apply modern office methods, equipment and software, such as: word processing, desktop publishing, electronic mail, fax machines, databases and spreadsheets. 
    2. Effective communication skills with knowledge of business English, spelling and composition. 
    3. Ability to develop new record keeping files, maintain accurate records and complete computer data entry tasks. 
    4. Ability to use and understand the Bi-Tech financial systems as it relates to procurements and reporting. 
    5. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. 
    6. Ability to lift (43 lbs.) for extended times, organize, receive, ship and track equipment.

V. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Types letters, generates reports and other documents, and maintains accurate files.
  2. Communicates via telephone and other electronic means
  3. Maintains the Technology Staff Development budgets.
  4. Completes staff development procedures including: registration data entry on class participants, notifying class participants of class status, arranging facilities for classes, recording trainer hours, preparing payroll letters and generating/producing class materials.
  5. Completes purchase orders, acknowledges receipt of orders and processes bills for payment for staff development projects and software applications.
  6. Maintains accurate records of software purchases, license numbers, installation locations, vendors and other items related to software purchasing and use.
  7. Processes all parts related to repairing computers and other district equipment in the AV Repair Shop as well as maintaining other records and systems for the repair shop such as paying for parts, returning parts, pricing parts and billing customers.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.
