I. ACCOUNTABILITY OBJECTIVES:
Requires independent work with close coordination with the media
coordinator and the other clerical staff.

III. POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Director of Media Services
Coordinates with: Media Department staff
Type of coordination: As directed by administrator or others
with coordination responsibilities
IV. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Desired training and experience: high school diploma, experience
with computers.
- Special requirements of the position:
- Work experience in a library or media center.
- Experience using data management computer programs.
- Experience with batch printing.
- Excellent keyboarding skills.
- Ability to use complex computer programs using MARC (Machine
Readable Cataloging) format.
- Ability to manage a large workload.
- Ability to handle detailed record keeping.
- Experience with ordering.
- Experience with computer spreadsheets.
- Experience with electronic mail.
V. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Searches for new or existing main entry for District IMC books and
AV and elementary AV materials.
- Completes data entry for new and duplicate records.
- Prints spine labels and catalog cards as needed.
- Loads new bibliographic records onto the library automation system,
the District union catalog.
- Adds holdings to bibliographic records on the library automation
system.
- Completes withdrawals from the library automation system.
- Enters changes and deletions to statewide database, WISCAT.
- Prepares the transfer of bibliographic records to the District IMC
automated booking system.
- Orders nonprint materials for the District IMC.
- Orders nonprint materials for the elementary schools.
- Orders all periodicals for all schools.
- Orders all library supplies for all schools.
- Facilitates interlibrary loan for Central Office staff.
- Records all fine money turned in and facilitates refunds for
returned books.
- Provides leadership to co-workers and assists them with
problem-solving.
- Manages the daily operation of the library automation system in the
absence of the media coordinator.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
