Requires independent work with close coordination with the media
coordinator and the other library assistants. Great attention to detail
and accuracy is required.

III. POSITION RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to: Library Media Coordinator
Coordinates with: Media Services staff
IV. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Desired training and experience: high school diploma, experience
with computers.
- Special requirements of the position:
- Work experience in a library or media center.
- Experience using library automation system.
- Excellent keyboarding skills.
- Ability to use online library systems: WISCAT, OCLC.
- Ability to manage a large workload.
- Ability to handle detailed record keeping.
- Ability to search the Internet
V. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Searches for new or existing bibliographic records for resources in
library automation system.
- Searches, edits and saves MARC records in WISCAT and OCLC.
- Creates original MARC records.
- Adds holdings records to bibliographic records on the library
automation system.
- Prints spine labels.
- Maintains and updates holding records as needed.
- Performs other tasks as assigned.
